About Us

Hello! Please allow me to introduce my family, Dennis is a Junior at Orange Lutheran High School who is a tri-sport athlete participating in Football, Soccer and Lacrosse, he is a busy guy with a job that starts before school at 7:00am as well. Next is Me + Sailor, we decided to start over and prayed for a Girl, my dreams came true with Sailor. She was born on my father in laws birthday who had past away 5 years prior she is truly a gift. My Husband Dennis is a custom home builder in Newport Beach. Noah attends a sport school in San Clemente where he focuses on football, next year he will be at Orange Lutheran with his brother. Noah loves all sports too and surfs, I expect his high school career will be very busy and filled with extracurricular sports of every kind.  I grew up attending a local summer camp every year in Irvine (Camp Frazier, now known as Camp James) it was attached to Wild Rivers and was the highlight of my summer. When I aged out I came back to volunteer as a jr. camp counselor, a couple summers later I became a Counselor. I couldn’t wait to babysit when I turned 12 and even printed out fliers and delivered them to houses with kids, my favorite movie was The Babysitters Club. I have had many nanny jobs all while dreaming of building Playdate.  In 2016 (sweet ‘16) we bought our first home and from there my vision of Playdate  started to come alive. Slowly one by one Playdate started to grow. In the summer of 2018 we moved my husbands childhood playhouse that his Dad built for the family from his parents home in Newport Beach to Playdate  in Costa Mesa. We began restoration on it as it needed a lot of work but, we were up for the challenge. I am a sentimental person and he is a proud preserver of history. My husband learned the craft of woodworking through his father at a young age, who built a huge 118 foot sailing ship in his Costa Mesa front yard in the 70’s! He has been passing down the skill of building to our children. 

In 2020 we partnered with Early Einstein’s, an early education program that my sister in law created. She is a longtime teacher in Newport Mesa Unified School District. I never want to push learning on children as I believe that free play is the highest form of learning at these young ages, but the sparkle in a child’s eyes when they want to explore learning is so inspiring to me! We make it fun, and easy! Because I believe that is how learning should be! I am proud of the community we have built here in Costa Mesa at Playdate and love every single second of my job. I feel extremely lucky to be able to do this everyday. I hope I get to meet your family and be apart of your story as well!
